Look at the trends – now we have a Pokémon Go craze going around. What’s that going to be? An event perhaps?ģ. The next thing you need is to keep them there, not let them pay a 10-minute visit to the mall, grab the item and run off elsewhere. Okay, so you’ve found out about your customer and you have thought of a way of attracting them to where you are, say, an event in a local shopping mall. Find a way to attract them to you instead of going elsewhere – either that means you bring the product to their doorstep – a typical liking for this can be accredited to Gen Google (Millennials), but also Gen Y and Z – or you make your products seem so good that people bother to come out to get them. Solution Demander – wants quick answers to all of their questions and a product that suits their needs straight away.Ģ.Service Seeker – looks for customer service and the attention of the staff.Shopping Enthusiast – loves shopping, brands, trendy items and all things “cool”.Know your consumer – what they need and what they want, how much their budget is, and who has the power to make the decisions of what is bought and what is not. The question is, however, how do you get consumers to spend? Bearing in mind that the economy isn’t doing too well on a global scale, what makes consumers choose to spend on your products? Here are two essential steps to succeeding:ġ. If you know the consumer and can tap into their thinking to persuade them to purchase a product or do something they wouldn’t necessarily normally do, then you’ve got it spot on. Of course, the real factor here is actually marketing. I think of purchasing products and how I make decisions on what to buy.
